Encaustic is this incredibly beautiful ancient technique of taking a combination of beeswax with damar resin and using heat to fuse together layers and layers of wax and other media on a substrate to create this hard yet fragile pieces that contain so much depth. The process is what draws me to this particular medium so much. The endless ways to create have me in rapture with encaustic.
